Independent certification and training decisions

Microsoft certifications: choose a job task, then a current exam and course

Separate product vocabulary from hands-on administration, development, data and AI work. Check the credential, exam and course identifiers independently before choosing Microsoft training.

All certification guides · Official Microsoft credential directory

Official directory link checked September 30, 2026. This hub covers published Learnerside guides, not every vendor credential. Exam and training observations retain the separate dates shown in each guide.

Which Microsoft route fits your requirement?

Protect sensitive information with Purview

Match learning to classification, sharing, retention or investigation responsibilities. Check the conflicting exam-update dates and the practice access you need before purchasing.

SC-401 information-governance learning guide

Extend apps with custom code

Choose developer learning for an actual custom-code, integration or application-lifecycle gap. Check the announced exam and course transition before matching a syllabus or paying for preparation.

Power Platform developer learning guide

Build a low-code business application

Use AB-410 to structure a low-code application, data and automation task. Compare public learning paths with the named course, then specify practice access and feedback before buying training.

AB-410 application-builder learning guide

Improve release and recovery decisions

AZ-400 concerns Azure and GitHub delivery. Check the separate expert-award prerequisite and retired Developer legacy reference, then compare named paths with an advanced course and task feedback.

AZ-400 DevOps learning guide

Use AI in daily business work

Choose this scope to practise drafting and checking content, analyzing information and using Microsoft 365 Copilot in daily work. Start with a real business task and a review standard; a productivity-tool course does not demonstrate a business result.

AB-730 scope and training guide

Evaluate AI adoption and investment

Choose this scope to evaluate AI opportunities, align investments with business goals and plan responsible adoption. Separate a plausible pilot from evidence of value; useful training should help you question cost, data, governance and change-management assumptions.

AB-731 scope and training guide

Manage endpoints with Intune

Choose this scope for device deployment, policy, updates, applications and endpoint protection in a Microsoft 365 environment. Decide which operating systems, management permissions and recovery tasks you actually need to practise before choosing a class.

MD-102 scope and training guide

Administer Teams collaboration and calling

Choose this scope for Teams collaboration, policy, meetings, calling and operational troubleshooting. A meeting-policy gap and a Teams Phone deployment need different practice, access and feedback; define the task before buying broad administration training.

MS-700 scope and training guide

Operate machine-learning and generative AI releases

AI-300 covers Azure MLOps and GenAIOps. Compare the named seven- and six-module paths with four-day instruction, product access and feedback on evaluation, monitoring and rollback.

AI-300 operations scope and training guide

Compare data-platform learning support

Start with the actual Fabric or Azure Databricks workload, then compare independent study, guided practice and task feedback. Use a fictional team brief before checking an offer.

Compare Fabric and Azure Databricks training

Build and operate Fabric data engineering

DP-700 covers ingestion, management and monitoring. The English update is announced October19; compare named training and the applicable scope before buying.

Fabric Data Engineer training and scope guide

Govern enterprise access and automation

GitHub Administration GH-100 expects enterprise experience. Its beginner course introduces administration; compare coverage, practice access and feedback.

GitHub Administration scope and learning guide

Collaborate with repositories before specializing

GitHub Foundations GH-900 covers Git, repositories and collaboration. Compare the two named learning paths; exact policy requires no renewal.

GitHub Foundations scope and learning guide

Design and troubleshoot workflow automation

GitHub Actions GH-200 concerns workflows, enterprise governance and security. Compare the named course with full current scope; regional invoice and personal renewal-transition record need verification.

GitHub Actions preparation guide

Evaluate AI-assisted coding and safeguards

GitHub Copilot GH-300 recommends programming experience. Compare two learning paths and task-based code review; product access is separate and exact renewal-transition entitlement is unverified.

Plan Microsoft 365 learning around retirement

MS-102 and its Expert award retire November 30, 2026. Check conflicting issuer requirements and weights; compare task-focused free reading, the five-day outline and an original tenant-change exercise without assuming a successor.

MS-102 retirement, requirements and training guide

Operate and recover Windows Server

Use current AZ-802 for hybrid server operations, not an assumed AZ-800/AZ-801 equivalence. Compare free reading, the five-day course outline and a recovery work sample; regional cost, lab licenses and exact seller terms remain unknown.

AZ-802 Windows Server preparation and training guide

Understand Azure before specializing

Use AZ-900 for foundational Azure concepts when that knowledge solves your requirement. A course’s duration is not a preparation-time estimate or evidence of administrator readiness.

AZ-900 decision guide

Explain cloud data before engineering it

DP-900 separates transactions, relational and document stores, processing and reports. Compare free reading with one-day instruction; exam registration, subscription charges and performed engineering are different.

DP-900 data and training decision guide

Administer Azure environments

Use AZ-104 to compare administration responsibilities with your hands-on practice. Check the official study guide and course outline; fundamentals knowledge alone is not the complete skill set.

AZ-104 decision guide

Operate identity and access

Use SC-300 for Entra identity work, not general Azure administration. Confirm your exam date and language against the announced October 28 update; conflicting future weights and unverified regional costs are not readiness evidence.

SC-300 decision guide

Defend a cross-domain security decision

SC-100 alone does not earn the Expert award: one current named security Associate credential is also required. Compare free study, a four-day outline and feedback on an original decision record; confirm the October 21 update, regional checkout and licensed practice.

SC-100 architecture, prerequisites and training guide

Defend an Azure architecture decision

The Expert award requires Azure Administrator Associate plus AZ-305. A design exam, an official four-day course and practical competence are separate; compare current objectives with a work sample before purchasing support.

AZ-305 architecture decision guide

Evaluate the current AI foundation

Use the AI fundamentals guide for the current exam target and its limits. Retired exam and course identifiers may have different dates; do not assume an old course listing maps to the current exam.

AI fundamentals decision guide

Test practical readiness with the guide’s tasks and original assessment where available. Recommended experience, formal eligibility and a requirement owner’s approval are different questions. Neither a score nor course completion guarantees passing or employment.

Microsoft certifications

Browse the Microsoft guides available on Learnerside. Filter by subject, experience requirements, dated exam status and cost, renewal model, and official preparation.

32 published guides—not the vendor’s entire credential inventory. Each card carries its own observation dates; these do not verify every guide fact, a current training price or an available seat. Experience requirements and recommendations remain separate; neither predicts a pass rate or job outcome.

Training options, course outlines and total cost

What should you verify before paying for Microsoft training?

For Microsoft training, record the exact course code and the exam it supports, the learning objectives, lab access and instructor support. A Microsoft Learn path, an Applied Skills credential and a certification are different products. Verify the exact provider’s authorization and courseware; do not infer a current partnership from a general “gold partner” badge.

Start with the official preparation linked from the credential guide. Free reading or videos do not establish that labs, practice exams or a voucher are included. Pay for structure, feedback, accessibility, a workable schedule or team support when those solve a real constraint.

Use a guide’s training comparison where available; no comparison link means Learnerside has not published one, not that training is unavailable. A dated price is not a quote and a published class is not a confirmed seat. Confirm time zone, modality, per-learner versus cohort price, taxes, voucher, retake, lab and recording access, cancellation and accessibility before purchase. Unknown extras are not zero.

Roles, skills and salary context

What does the credential show—and what does it not show?

Azure administration, solution architecture, data analysis and AI work are not one career ladder. Match practical tasks, your existing experience and an employer’s technology environment before choosing a credential.

Where a guide supplies wage context, read the occupation, geography, reporting year and mapping limits. Occupational wages are not the salary of credential holders, a causal certification pay premium or an offer you should expect. If a reviewed role mapping or wage source is missing, the answer remains unknown.

Keep researching, get employer support or ask a short question

You can use these guides without contact. For an employer or team, start with the work outcome, current skills, schedule and delivery preference. An exact budget is not required to ask for help. A request permits Learnerside to reply; provider sharing requires separate consent naming the recipient.
