Cloud Practitioner training: choose pace, explanation and feedback
Choose this foundation when you need to discuss cloud services, security responsibilities and costs. An employer requirement can justify the credential; a learning gap can justify instruction without an exam purchase. If you already build or administer AWS systems, compare learning for that actual work.
Best fit
Individuals and teams who need a shared understanding of AWS concepts and business decisions.
Consider instead
Targeted internal instruction or a practical course may fit a specific gap. A foundational credential does not prove implementation or qualify you for a particular job.
Before paying
The classroom outline and digital catalog are different evidence. Confirm entry, selected lessons, price, access and feedback before choosing.
No-contact next step
Compare the formats and try a private fictional case. Research and an employer brief require no contact details.
Separate exam scope, course entry and useful learning
The CLF-C02 exam guide describes foundational knowledge independently of a specific job role. Its candidate profile describes up to six months of exposure; the credential page says that exposure is not required. These statements do not establish your personal identity, agreement, accommodation or booking conditions.
The classroom course separately recommends general IT business and technical knowledge. A person new to IT may need an introduction before choosing its one-day pace. Course recommendations, exam registration and demonstrated skill are different questions.
Exam format, price, language and renewal evidence
AWS weights Cloud Concepts at 24%, Security and Compliance at 30%, Cloud Technology and Services at 34%, and Billing, Pricing and Support at 12%. The target candidate has up to six months of AWS exposure; coding, architecture design, troubleshooting and implementation are explicitly out of scope.
CLF-C02: 90 minutes, 65 multiple-choice or multiple-response questions; 50 scored and 15 unidentified unscored items. Minimum passing scaled score 700 on a 100–1,000 scale—not 70% correct. Published exam fee USD 100 per attempt before applicable tax and local-currency differences; not course tuition. Pearson VUE offers test-center or online delivery. German and Italian exam delivery retire after December 31, 2026; this is not retirement of CLF-C02 or the credential.
AWS does not require a prior course or certification. Its up-to-six-month target profile and the classroom recommendation for general IT business and technical knowledge are readiness guidance, not registration gates. Separately confirm identification, location and age policies and request needed exam accommodations before scheduling.
The credential is valid for three years. When checked October 7, 2026, the renewal table listed retaking CLF, passing an Associate or Professional exam, or Cloud Quest when an active CLF credential is within six months of expiry. That table labels Cloud Quest free, while the credential page still describes a free beta ending July 2025. These inconsistent statements do not prove your current free access or eligibility. Confirm the current renewal terms; this is renewal for existing holders, not free initial certification.
Exam logistics were recorded September 30 and checked against the official credential and exam pages October 7, 2026. Renewal sources were checked October 7; confirm the current eligibility table before acting. Read the issuer renewal table.
Check the issuer’s current exam fee, languages and appointment before paying. Keep exam attempts, course tuition, account or compute costs, learner time and future renewal separate; a digital catalog estimate is not a promised preparation duration.

Public exam scope and a private practice plan
Choose when: You want to identify unfamiliar concepts before choosing instruction.
Public scope reading; course and personal practice access are separate.
Evidence and entry requirements
Useful evidence: The CLF-C02 guide concerns cloud concepts, security, core services and cost. Coding, architecture design, troubleshooting and implementation are outside its target scope.
Confirm first: An exam objective is not a lesson or proof that you can do the work. Use a fictional case to identify what needs explanation or feedback; this is not a readiness assessment.
Choose when: Independent pace may suit you, once the selected lessons and access terms are confirmed.
Observed 2026-10-07: On-demand catalog listing; content estimate 12 hours 45 minutes. Selected tuition and personal access unknown; the listed duration is not your preparation time.
Evidence and entry requirements
Useful evidence: The public individual on-demand catalog names this course and estimates 12 hours 45 minutes. This is a catalog reference, not an inspected lesson body, contact time or personal preparation estimate. The course destination redirected to a JavaScript Required Skill Builder shell. Selected price, account entitlement, lesson access, practice and feedback remain unknown; no free personal offer is established. Its estimate does not apply to the separate one-day classroom outline.
Confirm first: The public listing does not establish course entry requirements, personal admission or account entitlement. Inspect the selected course body and access terms before relying on this route.
Choose when: You have the recommended IT foundation and need instructor explanation, protected time or a shared team vocabulary.
Observed 2026-10-07: Fundamental classroom outline; one day, contact hours unknown. Selected tuition and personal access unknown; the listed duration is not your preparation time.
Evidence and entry requirements
Useful evidence: Cloud concepts and deployment models; Compute: EC2, Auto Scaling, load balancing, serverless and containers; Global infrastructure and reliability; Networking: VPC, access-control lists and security groups; Storage and databases; Security: shared responsibility, IAM, Organizations and compliance; Monitoring: CloudWatch, CloudTrail and Trusted Advisor; Pricing, billing tools and support; Migration and Well-Architected Framework; Exam basics The four-page 2024-copyright outline describes presentations, demonstrations and assessments. No hands-on lab is named. One day is a classroom format, not verified contact hours or personal preparation time. Selected seller, seat, tuition, delivered revision, account/compute access, learner-operated practice, feedback and voucher inclusion remain unknown. Reading the outline is not enrollment or proof of readiness.
Confirm first: AWS recommends general IT business knowledge and general IT technical knowledge. These are course preparation recommendations, not mandatory credentials, verified personal admission or exam eligibility. People without this foundation may need an introduction before choosing this classroom pace.
Choose by the work conversation and missing explanation or feedback. A fixed deadline can justify structure; it does not verify a seat. Team members with different foundations may need different preparation. You can compare instruction or ask for help before completing any course.
For official instruction, match the exact seller and delivering organization in the AWS Training Partner directory. Delivery, digital training and resale are distinct capabilities; a logo or similarly named company is insufficient. For the same official course and revision, compare lab entitlement, instructor feedback, timetable, recordings, access expiry and total cost.

Recommended course background: AWS recommends general IT business and technical knowledge for this classroom course. Recommended course background is separate from exam registration and a beginner’s personal pace.
Published practice and lab work
The published activities are presentations, demonstrations and assessments, without a named hands-on lab series.
Demonstrations explore infrastructure, the console and billing tools. Ask for personally operated exercises if practical implementation is your requirement.
Edition and access: The one-day classroom course and 12-hour-45-minute digital listing are different products. Neither duration is your preparation time. New Horizons’ dated quote excludes the separately sold $100 voucher and advertises 90-day class recordings; confirm selected package and expiry. Visible yearless 8 AM–4 PM CST sessions conflict with structured 9 AM–5 PM CST; confirm the complete dated timetable and seat.
New Horizons’ AWS catalog calls it a Select Training Partner. This is a provider statement; confirm the selected legal seller and region with AWS. A generic partner claim or Marketplace listing does not verify every course package.
The issuer lists 12 hours 45 minutes of digital learning. The selected lessons, free/paid entitlement, exercises and account access need confirmation; this is separate from the one-day classroom outline and personal study effort.
New Horizons
One-day live virtual/private course. October 15 tuition is $695; the retained September quote was $675. The voucher is separately sold, not included by default.
One-day live course reference. Confirm exact seller/delivering partner, edition and package. Earlier USD observations remain dated; a fresh commercial/government dollar block does not establish current currency or eligibility.
Dated US CPE course reference; current tuition, delivery entity, edition, access and seats need verification. Discovery Day and the free Overview are separately named products.
These prices describe named packages at the recorded dates. Confirm the checkout total, teaching format, lab license, feedback, vouchers and cancellation terms. A calendar is not a confirmed seat. A practical AWS course is separate from exam registration and complete blueprint coverage.

Try a private fictional cloud decision
A fictional team wants to replace a small on-premises customer portal. Use invented requirements: variable traffic, sensitive records, a limited operating budget and staff unfamiliar with cloud responsibilities. Explain why compute, storage, networking, access controls, monitoring and billing each need an owner.
Changed condition: usage grows unexpectedly and a staff member assumes the provider handles every security task. Write a one-page decision note: assumptions, shared responsibilities, cost questions, missing evidence, next safe learning step and who should review it. Do not provision resources or submit workplace information.
Review: clear cloud vocabulary, responsibilities distinguished, cost assumptions identified, relevant questions and a bounded next action. This original fictional exercise illustrates learning gaps; it is not an exam question, readiness score or hiring assessment. If implementation is your goal, choose authorized practical instruction and feedback for that task rather than treating a foundation badge as performance proof.
Match the credential to the work and career question
Cloud Practitioner can support cloud vocabulary and conversations about services, shared responsibility and cost. It does not establish job eligibility or hands-on engineering skill. Learnerside has no verified Cloud Practitioner salary or causal salary premium: occupational wages describe a dated geographic occupation, not credential earnings.
If your goal is architecture rather than literacy, compare Solutions Architect Associate and practical architecture instruction against your starting skills and actual tasks.
Dated provider tuition and delivery observations
These retained observations describe the named seller and historical check date, not a current quote, seat, authorization for your offer or course-access guarantee. Compare them only after choosing the required scope and support.
Retained September 28, 2026 provider observations
New Horizons and Learning Tree displayed USD 675 and USD 895 commercial tuition at that check. These are historical seller observations, not current quotes or confirmed seats. The official classroom outline and separate digital listing above own the current learning comparison.
Dated provider outline and offer evidence
Retained provider-published observations; selected delivery, tuition, access and support require fresh confirmation.
New Horizons: outline fit
Course: AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials, New Horizons national course page checked September 28, 2026
Format and pace: One virtual instructor-led weekday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM Central; private team delivery is a separate offer.
Published coverage:
cloud value and deployment models
compute, networking, storage and databases
security, monitoring and governance
pricing, support, migration and Well-Architected concepts
Hands-on evidence: The page checked September 28 publishes a ten-module outline but does not state a learner-performed lab set, lab platform, recording entitlement or feedback model. Topic coverage is not hands-on proof.
Readiness evidence: The page targets learners seeking broad AWS understanding independent of a technical role. The one-day pace still requires the learner to absorb ten modules in one sitting; compare it with AWS’s longer self-paced route.
Likely fit: A learner or team that values a fixed one-day live baseline and real-time questions enough to justify the price over the official self-paced course.
Archived provider calendar examples: These dates were observed when the source was checked; some have passed. They are not upcoming class cards, open seats, or a current quote. Use the training finder for its time-checked references, then verify dates and availability with the provider.
2026-10-08 through 2026-10-08 · USD 675 published tuition · America/Chicago. The provider labels this date Guaranteed to Run while warning that delivery format may change; seat availability remains unverified.
2026-12-03 through 2026-12-03 · USD 675 published tuition · America/Chicago. The provider labels this date Guaranteed to Run while warning that delivery format may change; seat availability remains unverified.
2027-01-12 through 2027-01-12 · USD 675 published tuition · America/Chicago. The provider labels this date Guaranteed to Run while warning that delivery format may change; seat availability remains unverified.
Verify before approval:
current seat and Guaranteed-to-Run status
legal seller or franchise and delivery organization
current AWS Training Partner coverage and assigned AWS Authorized Instructor
learner-performed practice, recordings and support
Format and pace: One live instructor-led day, online or in person; the checked date list omits calendar years.
Published coverage:
cloud concepts and AWS value
core compute, network, storage and database services
security, monitoring and governance
pricing, support, migration and certification basics
Hands-on evidence: The page lists official AWS curriculum but does not publish a learner-performed lab set, lab environment, individual practice time, feedback criteria or post-class access.
Readiness evidence: Learning Tree recommends general IT business and technical knowledge. That is a course-readiness recommendation, not an AWS exam prerequisite.
Likely fit: An employer-sponsored learner who wants a one-day official-curriculum claim and can verify buyer eligibility, the calendar year and what instruction adds beyond AWS’s self-paced route.
Dated schedule: No exact calendar is linked in Learnerside’s retained observations. Ask for every meeting date, time and source time zone.
Verify before approval:
calendar year, exact seat and delivery format
commercial versus government buyer eligibility and price
Evidence boundary: This comparison paraphrases public outlines; it does not republish a provider syllabus, verify a seat, or prove that every listed topic receives equal live instruction. A provider-issued proposal should identify the exact course version, schedule, delivery organization, inclusions and terms.
A lower price can describe a different course
On September 28, 2026, ONLC listed a one-day AWS Business Essentials course for USD 450 and said it could be paired with free AWS e-learning for certification preparation. It is aimed at business or nontechnical roles and is not the same AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials offer compared above. Treat it as an adjacent option when the actual need is cloud vocabulary for business decisions rather than a like-for-like certification-preparation class.
What these observations do not establish
A listed date, price, or run label does not reserve a seat. Provider pages can change, and the observations do not establish instructor assignment, private-group price, customization, accessibility arrangements, cancellation terms, labs, recordings, voucher status, or every inclusion. Confirm the exact offer in writing before approval. The New Horizons page checked September 28 did not show the voucher and recording terms observed on September 8, so both remain unresolved. Global Knowledge was excluded because its public offering page did not expose a currently verifiable US price and schedule in this review.
Verify the official AWS delivery chain
AWS says only AWS Training Partners may offer, deliver or resell official AWS Training, but authorized capability and territory vary. Live classroom delivery also requires an AWS Authorized Instructor. Confirm the exact partner identity, legal seller, delivery organization, instructor, course version and territory for the offer—not just an AWS logo.
Keep tuition, the separately priced exam, learner time, practice, taxes, travel, and every unresolved item separate. For a team, compare the public-seat total with an actual private-class quote.
Name the work conversation, platform, starting knowledge, missing explanation or feedback, real employer credential requirement and purchase questions. For a team, describe different foundations rather than assume identical seats.
A short request permits Learnerside to reply. Provider sharing requires separate consent naming the intended recipient. The detailed planner is optional; keep workplace information and credentials out of the fictional exercise.
