CompTIA Network+ training options by schedule and readiness

Compare the learning pattern, assumed background, labs, voucher conditions and complete price—not the provider name alone. These are dated research references, not quotes, reservations or seat confirmations.

Network+ training decision | Offer snapshot September 12, 2026

Choose readiness, pace, and complete price before the provider

No exam-registration prerequisite was observed on the checked CompTIA sources; that does not make every five-day class beginner-paced. The credential page recommends A+ plus 9–12 months in junior network administration or support. The N10-009 objectives separately recommend a minimum of 9–12 months in IT networking. Neither observation establishes A+ as a registration requirement. Provider course entry expectations are separate. If subnetting, switching, routing, wireless setup, and structured troubleshooting are new, build those foundations before buying speed.

Build readiness

Use the objectives and hands-on practice before paying

Best first move when you cannot yet explain an IP configuration, isolate a DNS or connectivity fault, or distinguish switching from routing. Use the N10-009 objectives as a gap map, then practice safely on equipment, simulators, or systems you control.

Free preparation plus the exam

Use the official standalone attempt as a separate baseline

Free/self-directed preparation can keep course tuition at zero, but certification is a separate purchase if you choose to test. The CompTIA U.S. English page, rechecked September 20, 2026, listed a standalone N10-009 voucher for one attempt at $399 USD.

That is not a universal floor or a final checkout total. Tax, checkout total, eligibility, redemption, expiration, discounts, retake terms, and non-U.S. pricing remain unknown. Do not add $399 to a package that conditionally includes a voucher; verify the exact written offer instead.

CompTIA Network+ exam and voucher page

Five consecutive weekdays

Same tuition does not mean the same package

In the September 12 snapshot, ONLC and New Horizons each listed $2,495 tuition. ONLC said its exam voucher and exam-prep software are included, but voucher release and Retake Assurance depend on an 85% practice score and other conditions. New Horizons excludes the voucher by default and lists a $439 New Horizons seller-specific add-on; it listed interactive labs with 180-day access and 90-day recordings. These amounts and inclusions are historical observations, not current quotes; confirm the exact offer before paying.

Four Saturdays across four weeks

Trade a lower published price for longer weekly days

The September 12 snapshot listed CIAT’s October 3, 10, 17, and 24 live-online pattern at $1,295, 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Pacific each Saturday. The provider describes labs and unlimited exam attempts, but retakes carry practice-score, course-retake, eligibility, and 180-day conditions. This is a dated example, not an upcoming-class listing. Confirm a new schedule, the contracting CIAT institution, seat, promotion, and exact voucher terms directly with the provider.

Free versus paid · ONLC format example checked September 27, 2026

What are you buying beyond free preparation?

ONLC’s dated public listings illustrate two different reasons to pay. Its $2,495 live class buys scheduled, interactive instructor time, a Network Sandbox and practice exams. Its $1,295 On-Demand course buys self-paced lab exercises, 360-day content access from purchase and three months of online content-expert support—not scheduled instructor time. Both list a voucher with conditional release and Retake Assurance; neither fee is a private-team quote or final checkout total.

If you can build the skills with free objectives and safe practice, neither purchase is required for exam eligibility. If you need feedback, structure or a deadline, compare the exact access and support you would use. Inspect the two ONLC formats and their official sources →

Compare the N10-009 objectives with the two weekday course outlines

Compare N10-009 exam objectives with what a course actually teaches

Use the issuer blueprint to identify the skills to practise. Then compare provider outlines, actual lab work, pace, support and the complete package; a matching topic name does not establish equal instruction.

Official baseline

Exam scope: CompTIA weights Networking Concepts 23%, Network Implementation 20%, Network Operations 19%, Network Security 14%, and Network Troubleshooting 24% in the N10-009 objectives.

Training scope: The exam objectives are a test blueprint, not a provider syllabus or promise of lab time. Ask how a learner configures, diagnoses and documents networks rather than only hearing about the five domains.

How to use it: The credential page recommends A+ plus 9–12 months in junior network administration or network support. The objectives document separately recommends a minimum of 9–12 months in IT networking. No exam-registration prerequisite was observed on these checked sources; these are readiness signals, not proof that A+ is required. Provider course entry expectations are separate.

Free content versus paid practice

Official free scope
CompTIA publishes the N10-009 exam scope and objectives free.
Official free knowledge checks
The official V9 practice page supplies 10 sample questions and an answer key, not a complete mock exam or hands-on assessment.
Official structured instruction
No free structured CompTIA course was established in the reviewed record. Free objectives and samples are not a complete instructional course.
Independent free instruction
Professor Messer’s free N10-009 video course is independent instruction, not CompTIA delivery. Its retained access observation is August 5, 2026; it was not rechecked with the official sources.
Paid hands-on products
CompTIA’s paid CertMaster families distinguish Perform, Learn, Practice and Labs. Perform/Labs are presented as hands-on products; a public product-family listing does not establish your purchased entitlement.

Unknowns and limits: Current CertMaster price, license duration, lab inventory, instructor feedback, voucher bundling and whether all required practice can safely be reproduced at zero cost remain unknown. Free content does not establish equivalent lab access, support or an exam voucher.

Inspect the September 12 calendar snapshot—not live availability

These are historical examples observed September 12, 2026. Some dates may have passed. Do not choose from this list as if it were live booking inventory. Confirm every new meeting, your local time, eligibility, final total, and available seat with the named seller.

  • CIAT: October 3, 10, 17, and 24, 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Pacific.
  • ONLC: October 12-16 or November 9-13, 10:00 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Eastern. Center attendance still uses a live online instructor.
  • New Horizons: October 12-16 or November 9-13, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in the source-labeled CST time. Confirm whether that label means fixed UTC-6 or local Central time during daylight saving.

A provider's "guaranteed to run" label does not reserve a seat. Public dates do not establish private-team availability, and on-demand access is not a scheduled live class.

Before choosing

Ask for one comparable written offer

  1. Exact N10-009 outline, all meeting dates, daily hours, time zone, and instructor format.
  2. Current seat status plus the legal seller and the organization actually delivering class.
  3. Total price with tax, fees, shipping, late charges, voucher, and retake protection separated.
  4. Lab type and access period, recordings, practice tests, tutoring, and post-class support.
  5. Voucher release, expiration, eligible exam, retake conditions, and cancellation or reschedule terms.

Network+ public seats versus a private quote

Calculate the two scenarios without inventing a group price

Use a current written public-course price for the selected session and learner count. The observations above preserve the provider’s course-price basis; they do not establish a private-class quote, capacity or availability. Confirm the price per learner before multiplying it by your team size.

  1. Choose the public offering that matches the required format, confirm in writing that its current price covers one learner, and only then enter it as public tuition per learner.
  2. Leave private tuition blank until a provider gives you a quote for the group, scope, dates, and delivery requirements.
  3. Add exams, labs, travel, staff time, and group expenses only when they are not already included.
  4. Compare curriculum, learner readiness, operating coverage, and contract terms after the totals are complete.

ONLC releases its included voucher after its published assessment threshold is met. New Horizons lists its voucher separately. CIAT describes repeated voucher attempts, but ties later attempts to practice-score, course-retake, timing and eligibility conditions. Decide how many people need an exam and obtain the exact written voucher terms before adding that benefit for everyone.

Compare up to three written offers and prepare the employer approval request. After training, check application to the work. For the current weekend reference, review the CIAT evidence and unknowns.

Your numbers, your comparison

Compare public seats with a private class

Enter USD amounts for the same group. Leave unknowns blank; enter 0 only when a cost is confirmed absent or already included elsewhere. Blank or invalid values never count as zero.

Use nonnegative values with up to two decimal places; learner count must be a whole number from 1 to 10,000. Limits: 1,000 hours, $100,000 hourly staff cost, and $1,000,000 for each cash input. Keep all amounts in the same currency.

Staff time is an internal resource estimate, not necessarily an extra invoice or recoverable cash saving. Include preparation, attendance, travel time, and follow-up practice where relevant. Use a blended hourly rate if staff costs differ.

Public class seats
Private class for the group

Extras may include exams, lab access, materials, travel, applicable taxes, or contingency. Add only costs not already included in tuition. Confirm private-class capacity and the price for your actual learner count before using a quote.

Public seats — missing or invalid: learner count, tuition, hours per learner, hourly staff cost, extras per learner, extras for the group.

Private class — missing or invalid: learner count, tuition, hours per learner, hourly staff cost, extras per learner, extras for the group.

Add offer context and approval questions to your handoff

Record non-sensitive notes. Identify whether each amount comes from an actual quote, a published public-seat offer or your own assumption. This does not verify a provider’s terms.

How the calculation works

Public cash = learners × (tuition per learner + extras per learner) + group extras. Private cash = group tuition + learners × extras per learner + group extras.

Staff time = learners × hours per learner × hourly staff cost. Combined resource cost = cash budget + staff time. Each line rounds to cents. The tool does not infer discounts, seat availability, tax treatment, provider quality, or return on investment.

Take the budget into an approval conversation

The summary includes your entered values, calculated lines, missing or invalid inputs and offer notes. Keep it beside the itemized quotes; it is not approval to purchase.
