Choose Linux training by the work you need to do

Administration builds and maintains a system. Diagnostics investigates failures. Automation makes repeatable changes consistent. Start with the task and the work someone will review; people on the same team may need different instruction.

Best fit
Individuals and managers choosing RHEL administration, incident diagnosis or Ansible automation learning.
Consider instead
For a narrow gap, compare a targeted lesson or reviewed internal exercise with a whole course. For another Linux environment, confirm that the RHEL-specific instruction transfers to your actual tools.
Before paying
Published course entry differs. Selected outlines, tuition, dates, practice permissions, feedback and access periods need confirmation.
No-contact next step
Choose the work below, inspect the named course and prepare a private brief describing the task and reviewable evidence.

Choose the gap you need to close

Diagnose Linux incidents

Investigate a failing system, separate symptoms from causes and choose a permitted reversible check.

Evidence to ask for: An evidence-led incident explanation, a small authorized correction, rollback and recovery verification.

Read the EX342 diagnostics guide

Ask about diagnostics learning

Automate repeatable Linux changes

Turn an understood administration task into provisioning, configuration, deployment or orchestration that can be applied consistently.

Evidence to ask for: A reviewed Ansible playbook with explicit dependencies, effective variables, second-run behavior and fresh-host verification.

Read the EX294 automation guide

Ask about automation learning

These needs overlap. An administrator may troubleshoot a service, and a playbook author still needs to understand the configuration being changed. This is a choice of learning support, not three compulsory badge stages or three mutually exclusive occupations. The suggested outputs are Learnerside work-review criteria, not promises about a purchased lab.

Compare the named course and its starting knowledge

For limited Linux administration experience, inspect RH124 and then the foundation RH134 assumes. RH199 and RH200 compress administration content for learners with Linux-user foundations; significant administration experience is recommended. Rapid track is not evidence that it suits a novice. RH342 addresses diagnosis, while AU294 addresses repeatable automation.

Diagnose Linux incidents

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Diagnostics and Troubleshooting (RH342)

Read the official course description and outline where available

Topics: RHEL diagnostics and troubleshooting; boot, storage, networking, kernel panics and performance bottlenecks

Course entry and recommended background: The RH342 page says: Required: RH124, RH134 or RH199. Or equivalent RHEL experience. Confirm how your experience meets the course entry requirement and your personal admission; this does not establish a mandatory badge, course purchase or fixed employment tenure.

Scope and offer limits: RH342 describes a diagnostic framework for boot, storage, networking, kernel panics and performance bottlenecks. The public English description, audience and readiness guidance were read. A detailed chapter outline, course revision, duration, selected delivery, tuition, seat, permitted lab tasks, feedback and access period remain unverified. Ask for the selected outline and a diagnostic exercise you can perform in an authorized isolated environment with review. No paid course or lab was operated.

. This is not a selected price, date or seat check.

Automate repeatable Linux changes

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (AU294)

Read the official course description and outline where available

Topics: RHEL 10 automation with Ansible Core 2.16 and tools aligned with Ansible Automation Platform 2.6: provisioning, configuration, application deployment and orchestration

Course entry and recommended background: The AU294 page recommends EX200/RHCSA or equivalent RHEL knowledge and experience. Confirm personal admission and your administration foundation; a recommendation is not a verified mandatory badge or course purchase, or proof of readiness.

Scope and offer limits: AU294 describes automating repeatable Linux provisioning, configuration, application deployment and orchestration. Its observed course scope lists RHEL 10, Ansible Core 2.16 and tools aligned with Ansible Automation Platform 2.6; these are not proof of the selected EX294 environment. The public English description, audience and readiness guidance were read, but a full detailed course outline was not located. Selected tuition, duration, delivery, lab permissions, access expiry, feedback, support, seat and exam inclusion remain unverified. Ask for the selected outline and a playbook exercise you can perform and review on authorized isolated hosts. No paid course, lab or assessment was operated. The credential page uses RH294 where its exam link is EX294; no code equivalence or interchangeable access is inferred.

. This is not a selected price, date or seat check.

RH342 lists Required alternatives; AU294 publishes recommended preparation. Preserve RH342’s course requirement and equivalent-experience option while confirming personal admission. Neither course entry nor a recommended credential proves readiness or creates a verified standalone exam badge gate.

RH200 includes EX200 in the named offering; RH199 is course-only. Confirm the selected purchase, appointment and personal attempt terms. Do not automatically add another exam fee to RH200, or treat exam inclusion as a pass. RH124/RH134/RH199 course outlines do not establish a corresponding exam inclusion.

RH124/RH134 were observed at RHEL 10.0; RH199/RH200 at RHEL 10. AU294 lists RHEL 10, Ansible Core 2.16 and tools aligned with Ansible Automation Platform 2.6. EX342’s published default is RHEL 10.2 and multiple exam versions are in use. Course scope is separate from the selected exam environment; confirm delivered course and designated exam revisions. Full detailed English outlines for AU294 and RH342 were not located in the scoped sources.

Separate the course purchase from the award requirement

If the requirement is to perform a task, define the task and the feedback needed before adding a credential purchase. If an employer explicitly requires an award, verify the exact credential and your existing badge record.

  • For RHCSA, inspect the hands-on EX200 administration tasks and dated issuer learning paths in the RHCSA guide. A skills-path list does not make every recommended course a required purchase.
  • EX342 earns the advanced Enterprise Linux award. RHCE in Enterprise Linux additionally requires RHCSA and the same EX342 assessment, not a second EX342 purchase.
  • EX294 earns the advanced Ansible award. RHCE in Ansible additionally requires RHCSA and the same EX294 assessment. This is separate from Enterprise Linux’s EX342 path.

Course completion, an included exam and an earned credential are different outcomes. Neither a course nor this comparison establishes personal admission, exam readiness, production authority, a salary premium or a business return.

Ask what you can operate, review and afford

Selected course prices, durations, dates and seat availability are unknown. Compare the actual per-learner or team offer: instruction, authorized environment, feedback, access period, accessibility, support, courseware, tax, included exam and retake or cancellation terms. Unknown extras are not zero. A generic exam list price is not course tuition or the price of an RH200 package.

For administration, ask whether you can make a controlled configuration change and verify it after reboot. For diagnostics, ask whether you can collect evidence and test competing explanations before changing the system. For automation, ask whether you can write, run and review a playbook on isolated fresh hosts and inspect repeat-run behavior. A demonstration is different from work you operate and explain.

Public outlines do not prove these exercises or assessed feedback are included. No paid course, lab, account or assessment was operated for this comparison. Confirm the selected outline, permissions, reviewer and limits before paying.

Try an original mixed-team buying case

A fictional library has three learners working with invented Linux hosts. One is new to account and service administration; another already administers the hosts but needs to explain intermittent boot failures; the third needs to apply an understood configuration consistently with Ansible. The manager wants reviewable work from each learner.

Changed condition: the rapid-track offer is the only convenient date, the diagnostic demonstration allows no learner changes, and a bundled offer includes an exam the employer has not required. Choose the prerequisite learning and practice support each person still needs. Explain which course scope addresses the gap and what you would verify before buying.

Review criteria: specify an administration diff and reboot check, a diagnostic evidence trail and reversible test, and a fresh-host playbook plus second-run verification. Name course entry, permitted environment, feedback and separate payable items. Avoid prescribing the same course or credential to every team member.

This original paper exercise uses fabricated data and requires no account or private information. Execution would require an authorized isolated environment. It is not an issuer exam task, a readiness test, performed customer work or a measured business outcome.

Prepare a private training brief

Record each learner’s required task, current foundation, reviewable output, exact course and optional award requirement, selected revision, permitted practice, feedback and delivery/access constraints. Research and a private brief require no contact details.
