Who it fits

CCNP Collaboration fits learning needs around Cisco calling, hybrid services and contact-center infrastructure. Choose the work problem before the concentration. A focused skills course can be useful without pursuing the full certification.

Difficulty comes from following a call across boundaries: identity, endpoint registration, routing, gateway translation, security and media treatment. A call can connect and still have poor audio. Explain what evidence separates those possibilities before buying accelerated review.

Choose CCNP Enterprise when your main gap is enterprise networking, or CCNP Data Center for fabric, compute and storage infrastructure. If an employer names a credential, verify the exact requirement. Different CCNP awards are not automatically interchangeable.

Requirements & experience

Formal entry: Cisco lists no prerequisite for core or the three concentration exams. A prior CCNA is not required; no mandatory employment duration is established here. Open registration is separate from readiness.

Recommended preparation: the CLCOR course has no prerequisites, but recommends networking fundamentals, digital interfaces/PSTN/VoIP, converged networks and Cisco Unified Communications Manager familiarity. CLFNDU is its named foundations option, not a required credential ladder.

Starting check: trace a call’s signaling and media paths and explain what evidence distinguishes a registration failure from poor audio. If those concepts need guided practice, compare foundations before accelerated review. Assess each team member’s baseline separately.

Exams & specializations

The credential requires 350-801 CLCOR core plus one concentration. The checked core exam and blueprint identify v2.0; core is 120 minutes and the listed concentrations are 90 minutes, in English. Each passed exam earns its corresponding Specialist credential. Core alone is not the whole CCNP award.

The linked exam pages label CLACC and CLHCT v2.0, and CLCCE v1.0. Concentration domain weights, a universal question count and a numerical passing percentage are not established here. Use the core exam page and the issuer’s concentration links to confirm your booking and preparation scope.

These three choices appear on the current certification overview, checked October 12, 2026. Older concentration acronyms or a generic boot-camp label do not establish current coverage.

Skills measured

The official CLCOR v2.0 blueprint assigns these six core weights. These short tasks are original learning examples—not a full syllabus, concentration outline or actual exam questions.

Infrastructure and Design · 15%

Draw dependencies, availability assumptions and a safe recovery boundary.

Objective family 1.0 · pp1–2

Protocols and Endpoints · 10%

Trace a fictional SIP call and distinguish registration from media behavior.

Objective family 2.0 · p2

On-Premises Call Control · 30%

Explain a dial-plan decision, calling permissions and a bounded test.

Objective family 3.0 · p2

Voice Gateways and Session Border Controllers · 10%

Localize signaling, translation or interworking problems using synthetic evidence.

Objective family 4.0 · p3

Cloud and Hybrid Services · 25%

Map cloud calling, identity and coexistence responsibilities.

Objective family 5.0 · p3

Media and QoS · 10%

Separate a call-setup success from loss, jitter or queue-treatment evidence.

Objective family 6.0 · pp3–4

Weighted core topics do not establish your concentration readiness. Ask an instructor to connect one work requirement to an observable task, the feedback you will receive and the environment needed to perform it.

An original safe work sample

In a fictional two-site organization, calling connects but one site has intermittent choppy audio during busy periods. Draw the signaling and media paths. List the measurements that would distinguish loss, jitter, codec, capacity and queue treatment; specify what is still unknown.

Propose one reversible nonproduction test, its expected observations, an accountable owner and a recovery criterion. Do not claim a diagnosis without those observations. If you have a personally controlled, licensed lab, record the actual result; otherwise label the exercise proposed analysis. Never use private call records, employer configurations, credentials or production systems for this example.

Costs

USD 700 is the first-attempt exam-fee floor: USD 400 for core plus USD 300 for one concentration, before applicable tax, observed October 12, 2026. This assumes both passes are needed; check an existing eligible pass in your account before buying again. These unequal components are not USD 350 per exam. Training, licensed practice, regional checkout, extra attempts and renewal costs are separate or unknown. Read pricing and exam policies.

After failing a professional-level exam, Cisco’s policy requires a five-calendar-day wait starting the next day. That is not a free retake promise. Ask an employer to approve the work outcome and missing learning support; exact budget disclosure is not required to send a short request.

  • Booking: confirm region, currency, taxes, voucher conditions and any Learning Credits.
  • Learning: budget tuition, licensed practice, access expiry, books, feedback and time away from work.
  • Upkeep: price the chosen renewal route separately. Unknown expenses are not zero; no universal three-year ownership budget is established.

Plan employer support and funding.

  21. Catalyst QoS configuration

Recommended course background: Cisco recommends network, PSTN/VoIP, converged voice/data and Unified CM foundations; CLFNDU is a suggested learning resource.

Published practice and lab work
  • Provision endpoints and investigate signaling/LDAP faults.
  • Test PSTN gateways, dial peers, digit handling and toll-fraud controls.
  • Integrate Jabber/Unity and investigate QoS.

Edition and access: The current introduction describes broader cloud/hybrid preparation while this detailed outline remains largely on-premises. Do not assume a seller’s v1.3 package covers every v2.0 topic or both CLCOR-HC/OP components. CLACCM and CLCEI remain actual course names for current CLACC/CLHCT mappings.

Official concentration-course references

Choose the concentration around your work, then read its own syllabus and recommended background. Course names can differ from current exam names; a reference is not an included package or confirmed delivery.

  • CLACCM: Actual course name for the current CLACC exam mapping.
  • CLCEI: Actual detailed edge course mapping current CLHCT; it does not prove identical coverage to the newer CLHCT overview.
  • CLHCT: Newer cloud/hybrid overview; detailed module/lab outline is not published on this page.

Start with the issuer’s Cisco U. path and published course formats. For partner instruction, Cisco’s Americas directory lists NetCom Learning, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers Inc., Fast Lane and the legacy name Skillsoft Global Knowledge. Match your seller, region, delivering organization and exact course before buying.

For the same official course and revision, compare instructor access, personally operated labs, feedback, timetable, recordings, access expiry and total cost. A shared syllabus does not make packages interchangeable. Use Cisco’s learning locator.

Browse all dated training prices. Compare the exact course and complete package rather than treating a format price gap as like-for-like savings.

Free scope review and internal learning

Read the public blueprint first and use Cisco Learning Network for official learning navigation and community discussion. These are free scope and support resources—not a complete free course, guaranteed lab access or a pass prediction.

Cisco U. and instructor-led preparation

The CLCOR training page offers Cisco U. and instructor-led routes and advertises 64 CE credits. Its course overview PDF describes provisioning, directory integration, call routing, gateways, Unity integration and media-quality labs.

Compare the outline with the exam: the course’s web and PDF outlines retain Jabber, SCCP and H.323 material. The current v2.0 blueprint excludes Jabber and Skinny from endpoint deployment and H.323 from dial peers. A broader course may still help with legacy operations, but those topics are not evidence of current weighted exam coverage. Ask for a revision-to-objective map.

The exam page also names CLCOR-HC and CLCOR-OP instructor-led options. Their exact coverage split is unverified here. Confirm whether a proposed course covers your core gaps, your chosen concentration or both; do not infer that from the title.

Verify the delivered package

Current tuition, duration, dates, meeting time zones, seat availability, recordings, voucher and retake terms remain unknown. For practice, ask which UCM, Webex or gateway environment is included, how long access lasts and who supports recovery. A listed lab is not proof you personally have a licensed environment.

Verify the delivery organization’s current Cisco Learning Partner status for the exact offer using the authorization checklist and Cisco’s locator. Authorized status is a baseline, not a provider ranking or a guarantee of identical support and entitlements. Prefer free foundations first if you cannot yet explain the network and call flow.

For a team, specify the platform, calling or service outcome, each learner’s baseline, concentration, deadline and required practice. Use approved internal learning when it addresses the gap; compare instructor feedback for a fault you cannot yet explain. Team learning decisions.

Jobs & salary context

Relevant tasks can sit within unified-communications engineering, collaboration administration, network operations or contact-center platform support. Employers use different titles. Evidence of call-flow reasoning, a tested recovery plan and clear communication is more useful than treating a badge as permission to change a live system.

BLS reports a U.S. May 2025 median annual wage of USD 99,130 for network and computer systems administrators, with typical bachelor’s-level entry education. This broader occupation is not a CCNP Collaboration salary, every collaboration role, an entry offer or a causal credential premium. Check the occupation scope, checked October 12, 2026.

For network design responsibilities, Computer Network Architects, SOC 15-1241, reports a May 2025 U.S. median annual wage of USD 134,050, checked October 12, 2026. This broad occupation typically requires related experience and is not specific to collaboration architects or credential holders.

Complement technical learning with incident communication, change documentation, requirements gathering and recovery planning. These are Learnerside work suggestions, not extra weighted domains. Certification does not guarantee a job, seniority or a pay increase.

Renewal

Cisco lists three-year validity and qualifying exam or Continuing Education renewal routes. One professional route requires 80 CE credits; the CLCOR course’s 64 alone are insufficient for that route. Your account deadline and route costs remain unknown. Confirm the applicable route before expiry using the current policy.
