Detailed evidence, examples, and source notes
An honest, cited answer. We make no ROI, salary, placement, or 'worth it' claim, and we don't track live job demand — where we don't know, we say so.
Do not begin by buying a random entry credential. First choose one kind of work to test: IT support, networking, cloud, security, or data. Use a public career-change pathway to identify a small representative task, complete it, and record what you could and could not do. For IT support, that might be diagnosing an operating-system, device, or basic-network problem and writing a clear ticket note. If broad support fundamentals are the material gap after that test, CompTIA A+ is one reviewed option—not a universal first rung. Other work families have different evidence and credential decisions. Use the the decision steps above after the task test; choose a credential only when it structures the next knowledge or evidence gap.
What we don't know
Learnerside does not claim one easiest entry role or a placement rate. The right starting experiment depends on the work you want to practise and the skills you can already demonstrate.
