AU374 vs AU467: choose by the automation work
AU374 helps you develop reusable automation content. AU467 addresses the infrastructure, access and workflows that execute automation at scale. Start with the work you need to perform and the artifact someone will review. A shared platform name or job title does not make these courses interchangeable.
Best fit
Individuals and managers choosing advanced Ansible content development or automation-platform management learning.
Consider instead
If basic Linux or Ansible playbook work is the gap, establish that foundation before buying either advanced course. If you need both content and platform work, define both requirements separately.
Before paying
AU374 recommendations and AU467 prerequisites differ. Your selected course revision, admission, tuition, permitted practice, feedback and availability need confirmation.
No-contact next step
Compare the required work, ask for evidence of the learner-operated exercise and prepare a private training brief.
Choose the course by the work you need to improve
Required work
AU374: develop automation content
You need to author, transform, reuse and review automation content, including collections and execution environments.
AU467: manage the automation platform
You need to manage platform execution, users, content, workflows, maintenance and automation mesh at scale.
Ansible playbook development; inventories, configuration and task execution; filters and data transformations; rolling updates; content collections, execution environments and automation controller.
Ansible Automation Platform management: installation; users and roles; inventories and credentials; Git projects, jobs and branching workflows; configuration automation, maintenance and automation mesh.
An artifact to ask the learner to explain or operate
AU374: develop automation content
A reviewed Git change, effective inventory variables, declared collection and execution-environment dependencies, and a controlled rolling update with failure and rollback checks.
AU467: manage the automation platform
An access and credential-reference plan, job and approval workflow, execution placement across nodes, and a permitted maintenance or backup/restore check.
These artifact examples are Learnerside’s requirements for evaluating training, not promises about the purchased exercise or assessed feedback. The public course outlines were read and paraphrased; the paid courses and labs were not operated here. Ask which tasks you personally perform, which permissions the lab grants and who reviews the resulting evidence.
Keep course entry separate from exam eligibility
Published course entry
AU374: develop automation content
Recommended preparation: AU294 and RHCE on RHEL 9 or later, or equivalent Ansible experience. Personal course admission remains unverified; recommendations do not establish readiness or a mandatory credential purchase.
AU467: manage the automation platform
Published course prerequisites: RHCE or equivalent Ansible experience, AU374 completion and EX374 achievement. Confirm personal admission for the selected offering. These are separate from EX467 exam preparation; class attendance is not an exam requirement.
AU374 publishes recommended training; AU467 lists course prerequisites. Do not silently turn AU374’s recommendations into a mandatory badge gate, or treat AU467’s published AU374 completion and EX374 achievement requirements as optional. Confirm personal admission for the exact offering. Course attendance and a badge alone do not prove you can perform the required work.
The two exams have their own preparation guidance and explicitly say class attendance is not required. AU467’s course entry requirements do not become EX467 exam prerequisites. If a credential is required, review the EX374 development guide or EX467 management guide separately from the course purchase.
Both actual course pages list Ansible Automation Platform 2.6. The EX374 exam overview lists 2.5; the selected EX374 appointment version remains unknown. The selected numeric EX467 exam version is also unverified. The credential pages use DO374 or DO467 labels where current course pages use AU374 or AU467; the EX467 credential training paragraph also names a conflicting specialist. Check the delivered course revision and designated exam independently. No code equivalence, interchangeable access or effective rename is inferred.
Verify the practice, feedback and payable offer
Selected tuition, duration and seat availability are unknown for both courses. Public outlines do not establish lab-hour limits, practice permissions, recordings, access expiry, support, accessibility or feedback on your work. No paid course, lab, subscription or account was activated for this comparison.
For content development, ask whether you can change variables, install the required dependencies and test a failed rolling-update batch. For platform management, ask whether you can inspect effective permissions, operate an approval workflow and verify backup or execution-placement behavior. A demonstration you watch is different from work you operate and explain.
Price the exact per-learner or team offer: tuition, practice environment, review support, access period, tax, exam voucher, retake and cancellation terms. The generic issuer guide’s USD500 standard exam list base is not either course’s tuition, a regional exam invoice or a package total. Unknown extras are not zero. Confirm selected currency, discounts and country-specific terms; see the policy and renewal sources in the individual credential guides.
Neither a course nor an occupational salary figure establishes a hiring outcome, credential-caused earnings or a return on this purchase. This comparison does not rank the courses by prestige, difficulty or promised savings.
Use a fictional buying case to separate the two needs
A fictional regional museum maintains invented Linux hosts at two sites. A learner must make a reviewed configuration update in small batches, while an operations team needs to control who may approve and execute that update. The manager has a limited training budget and wants evidence of the work each person can perform.
Changed condition: the update uses the wrong effective variable, one execution environment lacks a plugin, an operator cannot use the selected inventory, and an execution node becomes unreachable. Separate content-development questions from platform access and execution questions before choosing training.
Review criteria: identify the Git and dependency artifacts, effective values, permission evidence, workflow approval and execution placement. Define a reversible isolated test and the feedback needed on each learner’s work. Explain which course outline addresses each gap, what prerequisite learning or admission verification is needed, and what the selected lab cannot exercise. Do not assume buying one course or passing one exam resolves both requirements.
This original paper exercise uses fabricated data and needs no account or private information. Execution requires a permitted isolated environment. It is not an exam question, a readiness score, performed customer work or a measured business outcome.
Prepare a private employer training brief
Record the required content or platform task, current Ansible foundation, desired reviewable artifact, selected course and exam revision, course admission requirements, permitted practice and feedback, delivery constraints and separate payable items. If only a narrow task is missing, compare a targeted lesson or reviewed exercise with a whole advanced course.
Research and a private brief require no contact details. A short request permits Learnerside to reply; provider sharing requires separate consent naming the recipient. It does not book training, and the detailed planner is optional.
