Azure Fundamentals: inspect public scope and plan useful practice
Use Azure foundations when you need to discuss cloud services, responsibilities, management or cost in an Azure environment. A real employer credential requirement can justify an exam; a learning gap can justify instruction without buying one. Start with the work conversation and the explanation or feedback you need.
Best fit
Individuals, managers and teams beginning Azure with different levels of IT experience.
Consider instead
Targeted internal instruction or task-based practice may close a gap without another exam. Existing Azure operators may need administration, architecture or troubleshooting learning instead.
Before paying
A Beginner label and one-day course outline do not establish your starting skills, tuition, lab access, seat or personal preparation time.
No-contact next step
Compare the named learning choices and write a private work brief. You can ask for help immediately; study completion and detailed planning are optional.

AZ-900 official skills-measured reference
Choose when: You want to locate unfamiliar concepts or check a real employer exam requirement.
Public exam objectives, observed October 7. Scope reading is not a taught course, question practice or a readiness assessment.
Evidence and entry requirements
Useful evidence: The official study guide states skills measured as of July 20, 2026: cloud concepts 25–30%, Azure architecture and services 35–40%, and Azure management and governance 30–35%. These weights are exam families, not classroom-time allocations or a readiness score.
Confirm first: Exam registration, purchased instruction and permitted practice have separate costs and access conditions. The exam weights are not teaching-hour allocations.
AZ-900T00-A: Introduction to Cloud Infrastructure · course outline
Choose when: You are beginning Azure in an IT context and want an introduction to services, management and resource work.
Observed 2026-10-07: Beginner course outline; one-day published duration, instructor-led or self-paced preparation listed; contact hours and personal study time unknown. Selected tuition and personal access unknown; published duration is not your preparation time.
Evidence and entry requirements
Useful evidence: Cloud concepts; Core Azure services; Azure management and governance; Azure portal and command-line resource creation The official overview covers cloud concepts, core Azure services, and management and governance. Its IT audience uses the Azure portal and command-line interface to create resources; scripting skills are not required. Lecture, demonstrations and hands-on labs are provider-described, not personally operated or furnished practice. The course syllabus offers instructor-led or self-paced preparation but the captured page does not expose individual module bodies or exercises. Selected seller, format, seat, tuition, course revision, contact hours, personal effort, account/compute permissions, lab access, feedback and voucher inclusion remain unknown. Reading the outline is not enrollment, personal admission or readiness.
Confirm first: Microsoft describes IT personnel beginning Azure and says scripting skills are not required. This is an audience and skill recommendation, not a no-IT-background claim, verified formal entry or personal admission. Compare the one-day pace with the learner's foundation.
Microsoft describes lecture, demonstrations and hands-on labs. The public module and concept references below do not establish an itemized exercise inventory or prove your selected offer furnishes a lab account. Ask what you will operate, which permissions and access window apply, and who returns useful feedback. An instructor, protected time or slower pace can be useful before any exam decision.
For a mixed-level team, compare different foundations and support needs instead of buying identical seats by default. One published day is not verified contact hours or everyone’s preparation time. Selected seller, delivery, seat, tuition, account/compute, practice, voucher and feedback terms remain open questions.
AZ-900 course outline and learning formats
Microsoft’s AZ-900T00-A: Introduction to Cloud Infrastructure links three learning paths with twelve modules, checked 2026-10-15 UTC. The one-day classroom duration is separate from self-directed completion time, personal preparation and verified instructor contact hours.
These are taught topics. The exam’s three weighted domains describe assessment; they are not a timetable or a guarantee that every objective receives equal instruction. Confirm the courseware revision and what your selected instructor teaches and reviews.
The public unit explains VM hosting choices and the operating-system, patching and configuration responsibilities that remain with you. Reading it is conceptual instruction, not evidence of deploying or troubleshooting a VM.
The public unit explains how to model resources in the pricing calculator. Its estimates are not invoices; adding calculator items does not provision resources or charge for them. It says the TCO calculator has retired. No calculator session or Azure resource was operated for this guide.
The reviewed module lists contain conceptual units and assessments; they do not establish your paid class’s exercise inventory, furnished lab account or instructor feedback. Ask which tasks you personally perform and how mistakes receive feedback.
Free self-directed content
Microsoft Learn training is free to read. This is structured reading and learning content, not a guaranteed recorded-video course, live class or exam voucher. Microsoft says Learn sandboxes are no longer available. Optional Azure resource practice needs a permitted subscription and may incur charges; reading these references does not provision resources.

Observed
Free self-directed Microsoft Learn modules and learning paths linked from the official course syllabus. USD 0 is the training-content access price, not missing tuition. This is not a guaranteed recorded-video course or live instructor-led class. Exam voucher, practice-test license and instructor support are not established. Azure exercises require an Azure subscription; resource/service charges may apply. Microsoft says Learn sandboxes are no longer available. The course page classroom duration is not a self-directed completion estimate. No seat, exam pass or complete exam coverage guarantee.
Separate starting knowledge, exam registration and the budget
Microsoft recommends skills and experience in an IT area such as infrastructure, databases or development. No prerequisite certification or required course is listed on the captured page. That is not proof of unconditional registration or personal readiness; identification, agreements, account, geography, accommodations and booking were not operated.
The course separately describes IT personnel beginning Azure and says scripting is not required. A person new to computing may need more introductory explanation or a slower pace. Neither this recommendation nor an exam objective is a personal admission or readiness decision.
Exam format, language, dated fee and non-expiring policy
The official study guide states skills measured as of July 20, 2026: cloud concepts 25–30%, Azure architecture and services 35–40%, and Azure management and governance 30–35%. These weights are exam families, not classroom-time allocations or a readiness score.
The captured credential page lists a proctored 45-minute assessment and possible interactive components. English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Indonesian, Arabic (Saudi Arabia), Traditional Chinese, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian are listed; confirm your appointment language. The fee is based on the country or region, but a numerical current fee was not exposed in this capture. Assessment time is not course duration.
Microsoft states that Fundamentals certifications do not expire. Do not apply the page’s general annual renewal or six-month renewal window for other tiers to AZ-900. This policy does not prove personal credential status or that the underlying skills remain current.
Dated regional exam amount: $99, recorded for the United States on 2026-06-19. This is the retained exam-cost floor, not a self-study or training budget and not a current invoice. The October 7 public credential capture did not expose a numerical regional fee.
Keep tuition, exam attempts, tax, vouchers, account/compute, practice access, learner time and feedback separate. Unknown extras are not zero; provider packages may already include an exam voucher, so do not automatically add a second exam fee.
Confirm the issuer’s current regional fee and appointment language before scheduling. You can compare learning or prepare employer support before buying an exam.
Try a private fictional Azure work brief
A fictional team is planning a small customer portal. Using invented requirements, explain the purpose of compute, storage, networking, identity, shared responsibility and cost monitoring. Write one page identifying what must be understood, who owns each decision, your assumptions and the explanation or permitted practice still needed.
Changed condition: the manager requests a one-day class for everyone, but one colleague is new to IT and another already operates Azure. Revise the learning choices, pace, practice permissions and reviewer feedback for each person. Do not provision resources or submit workplace information.
Review: platform and work need explicit, responsibilities distinguished, starting knowledge and cost/access assumptions named, feedback identified and a bounded next step. This original fictional exercise is not an exam item, readiness score, hiring assessment or performed customer work. Instruction and help remain available before completing it.
Keep the career question tied to real work
Azure Fundamentals can support cloud vocabulary and conversations; it does not establish job eligibility, administrator performance or a salary premium. Learnerside’s related-role links are editorial context, not a verified employer requirement or hiring outcome.
BLS OEWS May 2025 — Computer Occupations, All Other (15-1299), national, originally observed 2026-06-25T08:28:38+00:00. Annual median $116,580; retained wage range $55,940 to $188,470. These are United States national occupational statistics, not credential earnings, starting salary or a causal premium. They have not been refreshed by the October 7 course/issuer review.
The BLS group is Computer Occupations, All Other (SOC 15-1299); this is a broad catch-all occupation, not a precise Azure job. The related O*NET description is Computer Systems Engineers/Architects (15-1299.08). The role mapping is Learnerside editorial interpretation, not an issuer or employer equivalence.
BLS projects +8.2% employment change for this occupation between 2024 and 2034 — from 472,000 jobs to 510,500. It is a forecast, not a guarantee, and it describes the occupation, not this certification.
Public resources are an option, not an instruction gate
You can use public objectives to find an unfamiliar topic, inspect learning choices or request help now. The historical resource collection below retains original links; it does not prove current lesson bodies, all-topic coverage, personal account access or a free resource environment.
Retained July 2026 resource links and historical cost labels
These links and their original free labels come from the retained July 11, 2026 collection; individual notes were recorded June 14. The two practice-assessment URLs are references to an issuer resource, not two operated assessments. The study guide has since been separately read as current objectives above; the other listed lesson bodies and independent videos have not been freshly reviewed. Verify scope and any account/compute conditions before use.
Name the Azure work conversation, starting IT knowledge, missing explanation or feedback, actual employer exam requirement and open price/access questions. For a team, include different foundations and support needs; detailed planning is optional.
A short request permits Learnerside to reply. Provider sharing requires separate consent naming the intended recipient. Research and a private brief require no contact details; the fictional exercise never requires workplace information or credentials.
