Use the exact credential and eligibility requirement

SnowPro Advanced: Data Scientist, DSA-C03 is the exact issuer-listed identity observed October 6, 2026. The current page announces exam retirement November 1, 2026.

Check the retirement decision before choosing exam preparation

The issuer’s two-page retirement FAQ states that the exam retires effective November 1, 2026, all scheduled exams must be completed by that date, and appointments after it must be rescheduled. Confirm the exact appointment boundary and time zone with the issuer; a remaining calendar window does not prove an available seat or enough preparation and permitted retake time.

Already-earned credentials remain active for two years from the award date. The FAQ recommends the separately listed Advanced MLOps Engineer direction for future ML lifecycle work. It does not establish automatic credential conversion, identical objectives or a mandatory purchase ladder. Data-science training can address useful work even when this particular exam is no longer appropriate.

SnowPro Core Certified is a formal prerequisite. Two or more years of production Snowflake data-science experience recommended; programming experience may help. Recommended experience is preparation guidance, not a verified employment gate or individual readiness result. Course entry knowledge is separate. Registration requires the issuer agreement and applicable account and identity conditions; personal eligibility and a bookable appointment have not been checked. Review Core’s formal prerequisite and platform learning guide.

The issuer lists 65 questions and 115 minutes, multiple choice and multiple select; interactive also listed. English is the listed exam language. Online proctoring and onsite testing centers are listed. The count is a published total, not a verified scored-item distribution; unidentified unscored items may appear with time factored in. The passing result uses 750 or greater on a scaled 0–1,000 scale, not 75 percent correct or a practice-test target.

The current content families are:

  • Data Science Concepts
  • Data Preparation and Feature Engineering
  • Model Development
  • Model Deployment

The published weights total 100 percent and describe exam content, rather than personal competence or course completeness. The public exam details and broad topic families were reviewed. The exact study-guide reference returns a landing page with an access form; the full detailed guide was not recovered. No form was submitted. Obtain the exact dated guide before relying on comprehensive exam preparation.

Choose named learning for the task and entry knowledge

Data Science Training

Choose when: You have programming and data-science foundations and need a structured Snowflake modeling workflow.

Useful evidence: The current catalog lists 24 effort hours. The linked outline 26H24 covers data access and storage, preparation/EDA, feature store, ML APIs and model registry, training, batch/container deployment and monitoring. It describes lectures, demonstrations, labs and discussion.

Confirm first: Foundations or equivalent Snowflake knowledge, basic SQL and databases, Python or another object-oriented language, and a data-science, ML or statistical-modeling background; MFA Essentials is recommended. Confirm delivered revision, personally operated practice, access period and reviewed feedback; listed effort is not guaranteed live contact time.

Data Science Workshop (Badge 6)

Choose when: You have prerequisite platform knowledge and want initial AI/ML workshop practice.

Useful evidence: The catalog lists six hours while the narrative says eight to twelve; no single exact duration is established. The public overview covers Cortex Playground/Analyst, LLMs, prompts, forecasting and classification. Videos, quizzes, labs and automated DORA checks are provider-described, not personally operated.

Confirm first: Badges 1 and 2 are strongly advised; Badges 3–5 can help. The workshop says it is not for learners needing step-by-step instruction; follow its lab instructions before arranging an account. Confirm delivered revision, personally operated practice, access period and reviewed feedback; listed effort is not guaranteed live contact time.

The Data Scientist page recommends Data Science Training. Its current linked four-page outline, revision 26H24, describes a three-day course, audience and prerequisites on physical page 2 and topic families on pages 3–4. The older year in its URL is not the current document revision. It expects SQL, database and programming knowledge plus a data-science, ML or statistical-modeling background. Match the work gap and current delivered course to your baseline; it is not a beginner course or a guaranteed preparation path before retirement.

Badge 6 strongly advises prior Badges 1 and 2; Badges 3–5 can help. It lists videos, quizzes, labs and automated DORA grading, but those activities were not operated. Its catalog says six effort hours and its narrative says eight to twelve. Keep that conflict when budgeting, and follow the lab instructions before arranging an account. A workshop badge is not a SnowPro credential.

Snowflake Education Services is the named course provider. The public outlines describe intended lectures, demonstrations and labs; they do not establish a specific instructor, delivered class, seat or personally purchased access. Confirm language, delivered revision, accessible materials, permitted synthetic-data exercises, lab features and compute, feedback, courseware, recordings, access expiry, support, voucher inclusion and cancellation terms. Listed free workshop content does not establish free compute or an available account.

Separate exam fees, practice, tuition and renewal

The issuer publishes USD375 per exam attempt, with a separate India registration fee of USD300. These are published registration bases, not a global all-in price or personal invoice. Taxes, vouchers, course tuition, account/compute/API practice, retakes and renewal are separate. Unknown is not zero. A Paid course label does not supply exact tuition, and a Free content label does not supply a practice-cost total.

The retake policy requires a seven-day wait after each failed attempt and permits four retakes of a given exam in 12 months. That differs from four total attempts. Each attempt requires full payment; there are no free retakes. A required wait can extend beyond the retirement window; confirm your actual appointment and remaining permitted attempts.

Continuing Education uses a two-year renewal cycle from the renewal event. Complete an exact eligible same, equivalent or higher certification, or one eligible ILT course, before expiry. A full exam retake is allowed six months before expiry. Preparation usefulness does not automatically make a course eligible for a holder’s renewal. Confirm the exact activity against the Additional Information list for your active credential.

Renewal cost depends on the route. The CE page publishes Specialty USD225 and Advanced USD375 exam fees, and a generic USD1,000–3,000 range for eligible ILT with possible regional pricing. That range is not an exact quote for the selected course. Expired holders lose CE eligibility and restart with Core or Specialty under the policy; account matching, personal expiry and completed activity have not been checked.

The retirement FAQ says unused Advanced exam vouchers may be used for other Advanced exams and gives refund guidance for paid unused vouchers. The general voucher policy calls purchases non-refundable and says vouchers must be used before retirement. These are different policy scopes; confirm issuer guidance for your actual voucher and purchase rather than treating either as a universal refund entitlement. The retirement recommendation does not guarantee that the retired exam will remain a renewal option.

Connect learning to skills and actual duties

Data preparation, feature engineering, model training/evaluation, deployment and problem solving relate to data-science work. A broad AI specialist, data scientist or ML engineer title does not establish a statistical occupation, demonstrated competence, hiring requirement or salary premium.

No occupational, state or local salary estimate was established for this exact task mix. Credential-holder earnings and certification-caused pay remain unknown. Occupational context requires actual duties, geography, a named statistic and its reference period; an exam or course title cannot supply those facts.

Try an original fictional work case

A fictional bicycle-rental cooperative provides fabricated daily bookings, repairs and weather forecasts. Plan next-day demand modeling in Snowflake: define prediction time, eligible features, a chronological train/validation/test split, a simple baseline, missing-data handling and a batch inference result table.

Changed condition: A feature uses a repair completion time that was unknown when the forecast was made, and one depot improves the overall metric while a smaller depot gets worse. Revise feature eligibility and split checks, compare baseline and subgroup errors, and document when deployment should be deferred.

Review rubric: Show why each feature exists at prediction time, prevent overlap and future leakage, state the metric and its tradeoffs, preserve held-out and subgroup checks, and describe a reproducible model/feature version and batch deployment. A paper brief is not a fitted model, measured gain or exam-readiness score.

This original fictional paper exercise is not an exam question, readiness score or performed customer work. Use fabricated data and explicit assumptions. Platform practice requires an authorized learning environment; the paper brief needs no private data, account or new permission.

Prepare a private employer training brief

Record the actual work requirement, existing Snowflake/SQL/Python/ML knowledge, formal credential prerequisite if applicable, dated course outline, retirement window if relevant, permitted practice and feedback needs, delivery constraints and separate payable items. Research and a private brief require no contact details.
